Free Online Image Converter & Compressor

Convert images between JPG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF formats securely in your browser. Compress photos to reduce file size without losing visible quality, resize dimensions, and rotate/flip images instantly.

Perfect for optimizing website images, creating favicons (ICO), or reducing file sizes for email attachments. No software installation required.

Next-Gen Formats

Convert old JPG/PNG files to WebP or AVIF. These modern formats are 30-50% smaller than their predecessors while maintaining higher visual fidelity.

Private & Secure

Most online converters upload your photos to a server. We don't. All processing happens locally in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.

Smart Resizing

Need a specific width for your blog? Use the "Max Width" setting to automatically downscale huge photos (e.g. 4000px) to web-friendly sizes (e.g. 1920px) instantly.

FAQ

Does this remove metadata (EXIF)?

Yes. When the browser re-encodes the image onto a canvas to convert it, metadata like GPS location, camera model, and date taken are automatically stripped. This is great for privacy.

Why did my PNG size increase?

If you convert a highly compressed JPG to PNG, the file size will grow significantly. PNG is lossless, meaning it saves every pixel perfectly, whereas JPG discards invisible data to save space. Only use PNG if you need transparency or sharp text.
